Waiver
Should I win and accept the Grand Prize of the Dickie V’s Super Sixteen Basketball Bash sweepstakes, I hereby for myself, my invited guest, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the V Foundation, Dick and Lorraine Vitale and the rest of the Vitale family, and for any and all claims, expressly including injuries or losses suffered by me or my guest in conjunction with the fulfillment of the grand prize. This includes injury, sickness, losses, damage, claims, and actions from or rising out of activities related to the redemption of the Grand Prize. Activities include, but are not limited to travel, food consumed, etc.
I also grant permission for use of my name and/or photograph or voice in broadcast, telecast, print or any other account related to the fulfillment of the Grand Prize. I agree to receive email and/or phone calls from the V Foundation, regarding the fulfillment of the Grand Prize.
Sweepstakes Rules
HOW TO ENTER: To enter the sweepstakes, go to v.org/supersixteen. There will be no physical tickets. Void where prohibited. Must be 18 to enter and a resident of the US. The V Foundation reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for violation of these Official Rules, any applicable laws, or who makes any misrepresentations relative to this drawing. The online sweepstakes will open on November 1, 2023 and close March 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Entries by mail must be received by end of business March 8, 2024.The Grand Prize drawing for Dickie V’s Super Sixteen Basketball Bash will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, drawn at random at approximately 12:00 p.m. at the V Foundation for Cancer Research office in Cary, NC. Winner will be contacted on March 11, 2024, first by phone and then by email. Winner must claim prize within 24 hours of the official Grand Prize drawing or a new winner will be selected.
The winner does not need to be present to win. All entries become the sole property of the V Foundation for Cancer Research and will not be returned. The V Foundation is not responsible for lost, stolen, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, late, damaged, destroyed, or delayed entries or postage due mail or for unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software or other technical malfunctions or disturbances or other communications failures or circumstances affecting receipt of entries or entrants’ ability to participate in this drawing. To enter without a donation, send a letter stating that you wish to obtain a “no donation” entry with your name, address, phone number and email address to: Super Sixteen c/o the V Foundation, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513. Only one “no donation” entry per household. “No donation” entry requests must be received at the V Foundation office by the end of business on Friday, March 8, 2024. An entry without complete information will not be added to the drawing. A winner’s list may be obtained by sending a stamped self-addressed envelope to the V Foundation for Cancer Research, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513. Winner will be required to sign non-disclosure agreement regarding host’s address/specific location upon claiming prize.
PRIZE/ODDS OF WINNING: Grand Prize: One Grand Prize winner will be chosen at random from the entrants. The Grand Prize winner will win:
- A trip with a friend to watch a NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game with Dick Vitale at his home on Thursday, March 28, 2024, including:
- 1 room, 2 nights’ hotel stay near the Vitale residence in standard accommodations, checking-in March 28, 2024 and checking-out March 30, 2024, to be booked by the V Foundation.
- Economy airfare travel for winner and their guest, to be booked by the V Foundation. If winner lives within driving distance of Mr. Vitale’s home, they will be provided with funds to help with transportation.
- $200 VISA gift card for incidental food and transportation to and from Mr. Vitale’s home.
- Two tickets on a dinner cruise on Friday, March 29, 2024.
- A trip with a friend to the 2024 Dick Vitale Gala, including:
- 2 All-Access tickets to the Dick Vitale Gala in Sarasota, FL on Friday, May 3, 2024.
- 2 tickets to a party at the Vitale residence on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
- 1 room, 2 nights’ hotel stay near the Gala in standard accommodations, checking-in May 3, 2024 and checking-out May 5, 2024, to be booked by the V Foundation.
- Economy airfare travel for winner and their guest, to be booked by the V Foundation. If the winner lives within driving distance of Sarasota, they will be provided with funds to help with transportation.
Total MSRP: $5,350
THERE SHALL BE NO SUBSTITUTIONS; NO CASH REFUNDS, AND NO OTHER CASH SUBSTITUTIONS. The Grand Prize winner assumes and must pay all charges not included above. Winner need not be present to win. Winners are solely responsible for all other costs and liability incurred in claiming and using the prize. All unspecified expenses and taxes are winner’s sole responsibility. IRS Form 1099-MISC will be issued to winner for the value of the prize. The IRS requires withholding estimated taxes on the winnings prior to release of the prize. THE V FOUNDATION WILL PAY THE WITHHOLDING TAX ON THE WINNER’S BEHALF. No prize substitution or cash equivalent of prize. No prize transfer. Odds of winning are determined by the total number of eligible entries received during the sweepstakes period.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The V Foundation is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, including, without limitation, that which is caused by web site users, tampering, hacking, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the drawing or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries in the drawing. The V Foundation assumes no responsibilities for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, or defection, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or processing the drawing entries. The V Foundation is not responsible for user cheating or fraud by any entrants. If, for any reason, the drawing is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the V Foundation which, in the V Foundation’s sole discretion could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the drawing, the V Foundation may, in their sole discretion, cancel the drawing and return/refund all entries or select the winner in a random drawing comprised of all eligible entries received prior to (and/or after, if appropriate) the action taken by the V Foundation. The V Foundation reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the drawing.
